How is Family Manager different from a general AI assistant?
Family Manager is designed specifically for the needs of parents and family life. Unlike a general AI assistant, it does not make you start from scratch in every chat: it has its own email address, remembers the family context you choose to share, works with connected tools, follows recurring routines, and asks for your approval before sensitive actions.
Can other family members or caregivers use Family Manager too?
Yes. Family Manager is private by default. From Permissions, you can authorize your partner, grandparents, babysitters, caregivers, or other trusted family members to write to it from their own email addresses and receive emails from it. You remain in control and can change who has access at any time.
Which tools can I connect?
You can connect the email, calendar, and Google tools your family already uses, including Gmail, Outlook, iCloud Mail and Calendar, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Sheets. You can also forward emails or share links, files, screenshots, and public pages.
How does family privacy work?
You decide what Empla can see. Each family’s data is kept separate from every other family’s data and protected. Empla only uses the accounts and tools you connect, and only for the family tasks you assign. Anything sensitive waits for your approval, and you can review what Empla did or disconnect a tool whenever you want.
What should I delegate first?
Start with one loop you already repeat: a weekly school brief, activity registration watch, family expense sheet, babysitter handoff, vendor follow-up, or flight-price watch.
How is Empla different from Meta’s ad-funded services?
Meta says it uses activity and interests to personalize advertising in its ad-funded services. Empla’s model is the subscription: we use family information to do the work you request, not to target you with ads. We do not sell personal data. Meta’s data practices depend on the product, region and settings.
